Prayer Closet Tips

1. Chose a quiet, dedicated space

It doesn’t have to be a literal closet (though inspired by The Bible, Matthew 6:6). It could be a corner of your bedroom, a spare room, or even a spot in your car. The key is consistency—train your mind to associate that place with prayer.

2. Minimize distractions

Keep the space simple and clutter-free. Silence your phone or leave it outside. The goal is to eliminate anything that pulls your attention away so you can focus fully on God.

3. Include meaningful items

Add things that help you engage spiritually:

  • A Bible
  • A journal for prayers and reflections
  • Worship music
  • Printed scriptures or prayer lists
These tools help you stay intentional and track how prayers are answered over time.

4. Make it comfortable but not sleepy

Use a chair, cushion, or small bench—something comfortable enough to stay focused, but not so cozy that you fall asleep. Good lighting also helps you stay alert and engaged.

5. Set a regular time to use it

Whether it’s early morning, during lunch, or before bed, build it into your daily routine. Consistency matters more than length—start small and grow.
